3 frozen baby mountain lions frozen rescued

HELENA, Mont. - When you're stuck on steel in cold weather, there's nothing like a little hot water.
A railroad worker and a game warden used the age-old trick to save three baby mountain lions frozen to railroad tracks in Montana.
Rail inspector Pat O'Rourke says one cub was on its back and one was stuck by its tail. The third had a paw on a railroad spike and its belly on the track. He says they kept licking their paws but that only made things worse.
The sound of the screaming cubs roused their mother, who was on a nearby ridge.
O'Rourke says hot coffee didn't work so he called the warden who brought hot water. The freed animals left patches of fur on the cold steel.

Didn't they see "A Christmas Story"?
