Definitely looks like some interesting terrain and geology, but think I will by pass that part of the world for now.

Wow that was a heck of a story. I wonder what year that was! Definitely was a trip of a lifetime though.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say this trip took place in the late 1970's. It was a great time to backpack and hutpack through the third world. Americans were well regarded most places.

I travelled through southeast Asia with a pack for almost a year in 1978 - 1979. Thank you for the post RedRoxx44 you brought back lots of fond memories even if they were in different place. Sort of like going to different high schools together. Smile

I love wild trips like this. The image of the two Bedouins that were bearing the tomatoes is just priceless, very strong.
