When the Man waked up he said, "What is Wild Dog doing here?" And the Woman said, "His name is not Wild Dog anymore, but the First Friend, because he will be our friend for always and always and always. Take him with you when you go hunting."

Blame it on a recent viewing of "Alice in Wonderland"

It lists 'biking' as one of the activites which would be enhanced through toting along this product.
I have a moderately distorted thumb joint which contradicts this recommendation.
Never go biking when gazing through Tequilla Sunrise tainted goggles. |

We Brats tend to prefer to be spoiled willingly...or with the least amount of whining nessasary! |
Yes, because selection of appropriate tone, volume, facial expression, inception of execution, and duration of whine all contribute to the grueling nature of this endeavor.
Most folks have absolutely NO IDEA how much effort and concentration whining actually takes if it is to have it's intended effect.
It can actually be SO incredibly complex, with so many variables that can adulterate results, even if execution is flawless!
What if someones' kitty begins mewwing pitifully right when you start to whine?
Or some pesky 3-year old falls into a prickly pear and gets an owwie in her or his little hand?
All that work and planning goes right down the drain.
So no one who pays any attention would fault you for being so judicious with your whining and holding it to such a low minimum that we all wonder whether you've actually given up whining, and think that, perhaps, you'll never whine again...........

I assure you any whining I do comes naturally, with very little effort and certainly doesn't require any concentration...unless I'm trying to decide if I'm within that 1/4 mile from the trailhead whine zone! _________________ ~Tracy

You must whine so quietly no one can hear you.
Honestly, I must say that both you and Hikingrl really are troopers on the trail, and I've seen you both silently endure incidents that would have had me weeping.
You seem to enjoy hiking with malfunctioning joints and bulging blisters, Paint, and last Saturday, Diane removed substantial skin from her hand while glissading Picacho, and then went rappeling the next day.
So, when do you guys actually whine? |

I hear all these same scenarios time and time again. I think it's high-time we create some new ones for them.

I don't know about that "we", Tom, but it might be amusing to observe from a respectable distance....... |

Might I suggest a move from the name "Brats" to "Trail Queens"? Or perhaps "Camp Queens"?
It provides that regal you-must-meet-my-needs-or-be-beheaded quality I think you're looking for. |

I use a 16 oz Nalgene bottle. It is kind of funny that the only time I drink Jim Beam is on a backpack trip. |
Dehydrated lime, 3 tbs powdered lime Gatorade, add Jose Cuervo to taste...then another shot or two. Toss Nalgene bottle in river with guide line. 15 minutes later ya got a Colorado River Margarita. Nasty as hell but so are my feet. _________________ "Surely all God's people, however serious or savage, great or small, like to play.
