1/4/02 My wife and I hiked from the TH to about 4000'. The trail is being converted into a series of steps, which we didnt like. This trail is in the west unit of saguaro NP. The hike goes to Wasson Peak 4687'. My wife was running out of water so we returned short of the summit.

Love the new site. I'm a former Haz-er

What happened to that guy, teva joe? He could of at least warned us. :twisted:

Welcome Tracker! Do you sense the new steps are some sort of erosion check system or more for convenience sake? That's a really pretty area, I haven't been there in a while.

I believe it for erosion. But it is so hard on the knees. You can't just shuffle along. I think they want to do the whole 5 miles that way. The trail is closed m-thur for this construction.
