The people whose hobby it is to go out and pick mushrooms and eat them are having a field day this summer up here in the White Mtns.

I thought about learning this but I don't have such a good memory for little details. A woman who teaches a mushroom class in Greer told me she tells people to learn only one edible one a year. I think I could do better than that, but maybe I don't have sufficient interest. I saw a presentation at a biology class I took two years ago, and promptly forgot everything I heard there.

I was there Heat, 30 years ago photographing those same plants. The entire top of the mountain was open then and I went often. Very cool memories were conjured by your fine lenswork.

I've been seeing bucketloads out here on the Kaibab as well. Some of the guys from work know what some of the eddibles are and have been collecting, but I've never even liked store-bought mushrooms.
