Spent the night out away from base camp this past weekend. Instead of a night hike I spent the night laying in a small meadow stargazing. So many stars I wondered if I was on earth. Fell asleep under a falling star and woke up shortly after 6 am with three tom turkeys and at least 15 hens milling about in the meadow around me. One of the toms noted me and gobled a note or two, turkeys formed up into a convoy and broke for cover.
