Following on the heels of the Mentos and Diet Coke craze, some idiotic dude decided to find out what would happen if he drank a 3 liter bottle of Diet Coke and then popped some Mentos.

The results are highly unsurprising.

I've seen the "Bellagio Fountains" of diet coke and mentos but never seen anyone try to do that. I've always wondered though. Like Pop Rocks and Coke right?

Why would someone try it when you pretty much know the outcome. I guess sometimes people just wanna try for themselves, unfortunately I can be like that. But I hope I know better when not to try.

His pants didn't look too good either, kinda wet Crazy

Tim don't try the Pop Rocks and Coke, probably pretty much the same... Also don't just swallow the pop rocks down the throat without them popping in your mouth. I heard of someone damaging their esophagus when they exploded going down.... That was why they took them off the market for a while.

I still don't understand and what is the relationship/uniqueness between then and Coke. Some kind of chemical reaction or sickness or something?

If you look at my post carefully there is a link in the first sentance about the Mentos and Diet Coke craze - it is a link to a "Mentos Diet Coke" search on YouTube.

Basically, if you put Mentos (the mints with the abysmally cheesy commercials) into a bottle of diet coke, it nebulizes and reacts with the coke which sends a mighty impressive stream of coke out of the mouth of the botte. A normal, unmodified bottle will easily send a stream of coke somewhere between 7 and 10 feet in the air.

If you like the show "Mythbusters" (and if you haven't seen it, you need to) they did a whole show on it, pretty cool stuff.

go to google, then click on videos and do a search for mentos and diet coke, somehow they react when the mentos are dropped into the diet coke to make the coke shoot out rapidly.

I'd seen that video before - despite the waaaaayyyyyy too much time implications, it is still pretty impressive. The monetary outlay for that little project had to be impressive as well.
