Not necessarily HIG. You may have been blessed with good genes!
One member of my family who smoked a pack of Camels a day (NO FILTER), drank like a fish, smoked lots of wacky weed, consumed 6-8 cups of coffee a day and ate whatever they wanted, and never exercised doesn't have HBP. I was a vegan for years and still don't eat red meat much, don't eat prepared foods, and did aerobic exercise for years......and I have it. Go figure.

Oh, Oh, Oh....I believe (that just this morning while packing the car up from the Mt. Baldy trip) YOU told me that I had paid you back and we were now even. Isn't that right? |

How common is that though? I'll take my chances with a healthy lifestyle. _________________ Happiness is being high on the food chain. |

My BP this a.m. is 129/75; the device I use stores the last 20 measurements and shows 127/74, so pretty consistent, I am on BP med 'cause without it, my BP runs in the high 130's over high 90's. _________________ John Richardson and Richie Rich, El Perro de Playero

my pressure runs 90/60's - which is normal for me and for some of the population as well. However, this BP does make physicians and nurses nervous when they have to give sedation, anesthesia, narcotics etc...
It is a normal blood pressure if you do not have symptoms such as dizziness, light headedness and so forth. and all organs are perfusing - good indicator is urine output.
At work, we like to see systolic BP's over 90, however, we also tend to treat by Mean Arterial Pressure, which is diastolic X2 + systolic/3
If your mean pressure is over 65, your brain, kidneys and other organs are perfusing well enough without concern.
I work in the cardio-vascular intensive care... we like systolic BP's between 90-120 so they don't blow their grafts... or mean of 65-80, dependiing on doctor preference. _________________ You can never eat too much candy... |

I have a physical done every June. I came out clean as a whistle. I would have to pull my file to check what my actual bp was. I guess I can start doing it at the stores....if I remember. Normally I'm in and out. |

Very acurate machines can be had at any drug store for $50. _________________ "Surely all God's people, however serious or savage, great or small, like to play. I wonder how many kids mess around w/ the "sit down" machines in the stores and how accurate they really are?! Good idea to buy one though. I'd be pressure cuffin' every person who came over. Especially my realtor, who I can't get to eat clean. |

That is very typical of my BP Tim. In fact, that's got to be about my average. _________________ "Surely all God's people, however serious or savage, great or small, like to play. Tim,
Your in the Air Force right? Don't they check you all the time?
Robert,
Yeah, I can see that. I might just look into that. |

All the time? No more like once a year when I get checked for a physical. Well I guess they check it at the dentist as well, so make that twice a year. That is unless I go to the doctor, but I stay away from there as much as possible, worst doctors in the world IMO. Just a motrin machine. |
