After thinking about this for a while, I've got a few ideas for upcoming scheduled GHOTMs.
We have a lot of strong hikers that are very active on the site that are also very active in the planning and participation in the GHOTM.
I know for a fact that we can get more folks involved in these monthly hikes if we mix easy hikes in with the 50 miles out of town, camper-damper, barbeque, spend $70.00 in gas, take a day off, hike 17 goat-difficult mile hikes every month.
There's some folks that would like to join in, but might need something closer to town and a bit easier in difficulty. Maybe we should mix in a few easier ones?
If y'all think I'm wrong say so here.
The January GHOTM should be involved with the Anniversary Shindig. I can plan my sponsored GHOTM for then or I'll take a later month. Speaking of which.
We have another anniversary coming up. We'll need to plan for that soon. We'll be three years old.
Y'all got any ideas?
Thanks,

Yeah to that.....not all of us are able to take on WFW's and Ridgelines. How 'bout something in the White Tanks? _________________ John Richardson and Richie Rich, El Perro de Playero

Well then seeing how time is flying by (it can’t really be three years). Maybe we need some long term hiking goals. A thought might be to do one segment of the 20/20 Challenge a year, that would give us at least one hike a year until 2046.
I know that you are looking for something a bit easier, but this just popped into my head. _________________ Tony |

I'd like to see a hike down in Tucson, anyone have any suggestions? I have been wanting to do Basset Peak. _________________ You can never eat too much candy... |

Second that. Every outing in the Tanks has been fun and relatively low-key, so everybody could participate.

I'm always up for Tucson hikes, but for most of the people, we'd need to plan both a dayhike and an overnighter option. _________________ What a magnificent time to LIVE! - Everett Ruess.

Get it together, Tim! You're probably going to need multiple calendars. Here's a link to the ACA calendar - http://www.canyoneering.net/06store _________________ What a magnificent time to LIVE! - Everett Ruess.

I'd be up to talk to the group about Backpackgeartest.org if the lecture series idea takes off. Let me know. _________________ Jamie
