Did Pinnacle Peak this morning with 43 pound backpack on. Trail is not at all technically challenging having been contractor built; wide and smooth dirt with literally no loose rock. But good physical workout 'specially with the pack. First .7 miles is mostly uphill, some fairly steep sections; next .5 miles is mostly down hill, some fairly steep before starting the .25 mile uphill section on the smaller peak behind Pinnacle Peak, again, some fairly steep sections; final .3 miles to end of trail is downhill with much of it very steep switchbacks. Out and back trail, so just reverse the milage. In the morning, before 7:00, much of the trail is in the shade. _________________ John Richardson and Richie Rich, El Perro de Playero

When the Man waked up he said, "What is Wild Dog doing here?" And the Woman said, "His name is not Wild Dog anymore, but the First Friend, because he will be our friend for always and always and always. Take him with you when you go hunting."

Hooli- is there areas to explore off trail in the Pinnacle Peak area? I haven't made my way up there yet... _________________ -Colin

There's a rock climbing area about 1/4 of the way into the trail that, I'm told, can get you to the top of the peak. The highest point on the trail is well below the peak. _________________ John Richardson and Richie Rich, El Perro de Playero
