And who has the perfect pack that "does" it all???
Or tent, headlamp etc---
I'm on my way to Summit Hut now, then up to Mt Graham for an overnight BP.
Looking at sit harnesses--Vertical cave training coming up next month. Now its Biners, webbing etc. _________________ You can rest when you're dead |

I wish I could find the pack that "did it all" then I wouldn't have to be the owner of 3 packs!!!!!
Seriously, I have a light daypack (my first Camelbak....a Cloudwalker) for short day hikes, a H.A.W.G. for longer day hikes, and a Gregory Deva for backpacking. It would be nice to find a backpack for petite people that also have a removable section to take on a day adventure. Guess I need to visit the Summit Hut when I'm in Tuscon next month!

I have about 12 packs. When we moved into the new house I had three backpacks full of other backpacks...
I'm with time on that flash pack, for 25 bucks it's about the best thing around for throwing in your backpack just in case you have a side excursion. _________________ Cogito ergo ambulo cum sacculo

I used the REI Flash Pack when I dayhiked out to the little colorado during my May Grand Canyon Backback. It held my lunch, water filter, nalgene and a pair of sandals. But thats about all it will hold. I've even used it on some dayhikes. I typically don't carry much on dayhikes besides water, lunch and maybe a pair of socks though.

I have 3, one I don't even want to mention because I had no clue what I was looking for so I got it at Target, need I say more???
My other two were deals at Popular (thank you Hooli for the great find way back when), my MULE and my PEAKBAGGER both Camelbaks. Love them! I'd sleep with them, ummm oh yeah I have! lol! Ok back on the subject....
Now why am I hanging onto the Target one? Because I "painstakingly" sewed on patches so it has sentimental value. Hey TOM, remember those days, breaking needles sewing on the patches! lol! Sew, I mean SO my packs all have a history! Glad they can't talk though!! lol!

I have five packs:
Gregory Wind River
Jansport Rainier
Golite Breeze
ULA P2
Boundary Bag - the medium one
These are all backpacking bags, if you count daypacks, hydration packs, etc, I probably have close to an even dozen. _________________ "Men wanted for hazardous journey. I get by with my Peakbagger, my Camelback(s) and my 5300 backpack. Though none work perfectly, I've survived some big peaks, some Canyon treks, some spur-of-the-moment caving, some big swimmers and a bunch of canyoneering treks with a lot of climbing/swimming.
However, due to some upcoming Canyon, Utah trips, New Mexico, and caving trips, I'm going to have to review my equipment for fall and snow camps at Higher altitudes (I hate freezing to death) . _________________ What a magnificent time to LIVE! - Everett Ruess.
