I've never done this one. Messami and corkybugs are going to try it out.
If you're interested let me know. We'll probably leave around 8:00 AM.
Thanks,

Sorry GTG, I'm busy 4/12. I'd suggest an earlier start time. Just my 2 cents. _________________ Mike T

I would like an earlier start but messami closes tonight and won't get out of work until around midnight. She's fussy without enough sleep.

Messami and myself went out to Picketpost on Saturday. We checked out the corral on the way in. That place was very cool. Any ideas on how old the structures are or when that was first used? Seeing old desert engineering like that always amazes me. Folks back in the day were pretty resourceful to scrape a living out of the land in places like that. These days folks can't function if their cellular phone battery gets low.
I didn't pay attention to the instructions on getting to the trail up the mountain. I was just happy to be out hiking. I had us marched 2 miles closer to Mexico before we realized we weren't going to make it up the mountain on the trail we were on. We turned around and after checking out a few wrong trails and an old shot up 60's era Chevy turned packrat nest, we got to the real trail.
All the warnings on steep, rugged, exposed terrain are true. Messami turned out to be quite the mountain goat. GTG on the other hand, turned out to be the big chicken. Being the constant computer geek he is, he has gotten out of shape and unused to outdoor heights. Acrophobia was rampant that day. We'll be back to finish it after I get a bit of conditioning.
