There is a short hike listed for Grand Falls in Mangum's "Flagstaff Hikes" book. That's not really the reason anyone would go there. It would be for the Falls themselves. They will be running great tomorrow and Monday and then decline until the place is dry once again.
We went there today. Here are 24 pictures.

PS--We want to get this information to you. Don't bother following the final directions in Mangum's book, "Flagstaff Hikes." The road is HORRIBLY washboarded. Continue about 5.1 miles beyond the boundary of the Navajo Reservation to a left turn onto Rez Road #6910.
35 degrees 18 minutes 25 seconds N
111 degrees 09 minutes 19 seconds W
(5211 feet)
The distance from the pavement here is only about a mile more than Navajo #70. You've only driven an extra five miles, perhaps 6-7 minutes. Trust us, this road is regularly bladed and it is GREAT! You can cruise 40-45 mph with no fear. If you truly want to abuse yourself, your passengers and your vehicle, then stick with Navajo #70. |

I was there a last Monday, looks like a bit more volume here in these shots. _________________ The bear went over the mountain to see what he could see. |

I have been there twice. The fist time it was flooding. It was really neet seeing it with abnormal amounts of water flooding through it. The other time was when it was completely dry. It's neat to see what the water does to the river bed. There are 4-5 foot holes in the rock. I have a picture of me standing in one chest deep. _________________ Mountains are there to be climbed!
