I took my numb foot self to Lost Dutchman State Park today in the hope of seeing some poppies, etc. Must've been a cool night, because very few were open;hiked up to Praying Hands(gorgeous day) and sat for a while contemplating the beauty of this amazing area...lots of tourii, but always room for everyone. The blooms probably won't peak for maybe 2 weeks..have to try again...love that area when it blooms..very wonderful day with perfect breeze and temps. Very Happy

I went up back on 2/12 and was amazed at how green everything was! The trail looked like a dirt road through a grass field. That day was overcast and raining, with clouds descending to engulf all of Superstition mountain. I was lucky and caught a break in the clouds that lasted about an hour as I made my way up to praying hands. No wildflowers that day, but it was by far the greenest I've ever seen the area.

I've put some photos up at:

Tom, I was hooked after my first trip back in the late 80s!! Fought it for years, but the pull is getting stronger, and I'm not fighting as hard as I used to!! It's only a matter of time now...
