Stoney Mountain

Looks like I'm ready to start training again for the overnights again. The cortisone shot to my foot has finally healed, and this hike was excellent for training. The trail is only 1.7 miles but i made it longer by taking a south turn and going through the neighborhood around a small park. The houses are right up against this part of the Phoneix Mtn Preserves, but the trail was unpopulated. This trail also meets up with trail 100 south to Dreamy Draw and west over Cave Creek Road. Counterclockwise, there is a nice 500 ft (guess) climb 3/4 way through. Very nice views on the east side at sunset. This was the last Phx Mtn Preserve hike on my list, Now it's on to Usery, McDowell, and White Tanks.
