Just read Arizonaheat's post in the "Trail Log" forum. Sounds like a great time was had by all. Glad I started this thing even if I didn't get to go along. I'll have to do it vicariously through all your posts. _________________ John Richardson and Richie Rich, El Perro de Playero

When the Man waked up he said, "What is Wild Dog doing here?" And the Woman said, "His name is not Wild Dog anymore, but the First Friend, because he will be our friend for always and always and always. Take him with you when you go hunting."

I have to second what everyone else has said. It was a great hike with good hiking companions. I went pretty minimal on my gear this time and it bit me a little. I left the tent at home and just sandwiched my sleeping bag and thermarest inside a tarp. It kept the dew off but with the cold weather I created my own ecosystem. My breath would condense on the tarp and everytime I moved I'd cause a short rainstorm. At least there was no lightning! Circlestone is pretty awesome and it sits on top of a knoll with great views. Four Peaks was pretty impressive from that angle. The apple trees were still dormant. I'll check 'em out later and if there is going to be a crop, we'll have to go in the fall. |
