Sorry Phrankster, but I wasn't ever talking about TODAY - it was next Tuesday we were talking about. My days off this week are Thursday and Friday, next week I have Tuesday and maybe Friday off, so I can go any of those days. |

I only have Fridays or Mondays off. Anytime on the weekend, of course.
Get prepared for a fun workout... after reaching the "Flatiron", make sure you also hit the "true" summit. Nice views. |

Okay then, Canyon Dweller and Phrankster I'll meet you guys at 8:00am Tuesday at the Siphon Draw TH!! I'm looking forward to it, since I haven't climbed Flatiron since December 24th (in the snow!). Don't worry, TommyB, we'll definitely hit the actual peak - I think people who climb all the way up the Flatiron, then skip the peak are crazy!
Anyone else want to come? |

Don't worry Canyon Dweller, next time I come out there, which should be sometime over the summer , I will gladly do the Flatiron with you and whoever else would like to go-including none other than DennisBench of couse- because I love that hike so much. It's probably one of my most favorite hikes out there. It's truely amazing. So if you haven't done the Flatiron by this summer, we'll go for the hike. _________________ "IRONMAN" cometh, hiketh, destroyeth |

Good to know we'll be doing the true summit. I hate doing mountains without getting to the true summit. It's strange that the sub-summit is named and not the true summit. _________________ Mountains are there to be climbed!

Yeah, I felt the same way after doing it a couple of times without even knowing about the "true" summit trail. I just blazed right by it.
Even though I am against defacing nature, keep your eyes peeled for the paint dots. It gets a bit dicey in some spots. Sounds like CactusCat the "trail guide" has a handle on things though.
Have fun everyone! Wish I could join you. |
