I went up to the Rim this weekend with the VOAz, Volunteers for Outdoor Arizona. We built the elk fence at Larsen Point Campground. It is a buck-and-pole fence to keep the elk out so the new hardwood trees can get started. Take a gander next time you are driving by.

It was a great time. Not as "wilderness-like" as my past adventures, but good people, good weather, good food and we accomplished something. An added plus is that the 300 miles I drove are a tax deduction. Not many outdoor activities can offer that.
