It's a good thing I'm going to Chicago in 3 weeks, with all this talk of pizza and my 3 favorite pizza places from home being mentioned. Jakes, Rosati's, Giordono's (For the deep dish).

Also I like Uno's but only the one in San Diego by the beach, the others I have been to just have way to thick of tomato's on them. The one in downtown chicago is probably the worst I've been too.

I happen to like Nello's the best. Great pizza, good wine list, and the prices are resonable too.

Not sure of the name, but it's the NE corner of Bell and 16th street. They make the best Spinach, garlic, onion and mushroom pizza. It's the BEST! Mary

I don't necessarily agree with "best pizza" - but they definitely have the best marketing potential.

I always thought their slogan should be:

"Pizza cooked in the fires of HEL*"

I'd buy the pizza just for the slogan!

I second this. Or Richardson's Pizza, half price everday from 5-7pm, and 11 - 1am.

Neither of these are traditional pizza, but they are very good.

I'm still looking for a good pizza & grinder place out here. Sorry but nothing compares to the little "Mom & Pop" pizza joints in the northeast. Nello's is pretty decent though.

I am normally not that fond of chain restaurants but NYPD pizza in Chandler is pretty good..I think there might be one in Scottsdale too.

Went to Santisi Brothers (29th ave & Bell) the other night and had the best pizza we've had in a loooong time.

It's a sports bar as well so it can be loud and smokey at times.

For those of you who don't know what a grinder is (and this question was PM'd to me tonight) it's a hoagie/hero/sub sandwich. I guess it depends what area of the country you're from. We called them grinders so that must be a New England thang.

They were oven baked so the bread was crispy and usually had some kind of seasoned oil baked in to the bread. Kinda like Quiznos only much much better!

YES....there really is a MYSTIC PIZZA.....I've been there! Notice they have GRINDERS on their menu
