Yep, somebody developed clothes that never need washing.
About halfway down the inventor specifically mentions people he had in mind when developing the fabric:

"Like military people, or travelers, people who go hiking, who don't have a lot of water and time to wash their clothes," he said. |

This is a very good idea because then if the clothes get dirty, the dirt can be decomposed by the fabric itself. So after a few days in the sunshine, or even indoor light, the dirt will disappear. |
So after a few days????
If it takes a few days for the clothes to clean themselves how are they ever going to be of any use? And as dirty as I get, I have to imagine that it'll take a week to get rid of all that dirt, and meanwhile I'd be picking up more dirt as I go...
Seems like theres kind of a point of diminishing returns doesn't it? _________________ Cogito ergo ambulo cum sacculo

Well, the laws of physics basically say there's no free meals, so you're probably right. I doubt that they last forever and I doubt they get 100% clean in a matter of days.
Who knows? We'll wait and see how successful they are. _________________ "Only small minds want always to be right."
