Smoke That Roars
Author Robert Finkbine will be joining us to present a slideshow and discussion based on his new book Smoke That Roars. Robert has spent most of his life river rafting on the Colorado River and most of the great rivers of the United States. When not rafting he spent his time teaching high school history. This unique combination of adventure and insight make for a great work of literature that spends half the time reminiscing about the Colorado River, the Grand Canyon and the other half talking about the environmental issues that are becoming more and more critical. Join this old river rat for a great evening of river lore and talk of the future!

I took in the AZ Trail session, very good, with very valuable information. One hand out on water sources had to take him weeks to assemble, and he just gave it out free! I'm impressed. This was enough to spark my interests in doing it in chunks, say, week long treks or by segment.

I hear it is being digitized and will be available on maps or as GPS downloadable files.
