I took a hike out of First Water Trailhead on Sunday. After a few miles I scooted off cross country to check out some hill tops. Found a few odds and ends but the oddest was a small plastic box. It was rocked in under a large rock on a summit. From the weather worn label I was able to figure out what it contained, cremains. Could not make out the date or even the name of the person. The mortician's name was still clear though. I replaced the rocks and hoped they rest well. I expected an illegal geocache or claim document. Never expected to find a person. Shocked

That's bizarre!

I've met people going to spread ashes, or visit such sites, on the trail, but never come across any still in the box. I thought these would be spread out, not left in the container.

This isnt in the sups but I was bushwacking down a hill in Glendale and found a pair of roller blades and a backpack with some hair conditioner in it.

This was about 300 feet up.. I thought it was pretty odd... Ive checked a few times since and they are still there.....
