Can you get a cell phone signal from the Barnhardt Trailhead??
I was thinking about ending a multi-day trip there and calling for a pickup.
My cell phone is a digital model that will roam analog, so doesn't have the rural limitations of the "next generation" phones.
Thanks for any input. |

Mine worked but it was cutting in and out. I have a regular Motorola V60 and Verizon service.

I've got Sprint and I had service there two Saturdays ago. Last year when I had Qwest service, I couldn't get a signal there. You may have to drive out and see fer sure there trigger man.

Your best chance of getting a signal will be when you're on the switchbacks about 2 miles from the TH, more specifically when your at those great little overviews of the Valley at the north end of each switch-back. The elevation and clear LOS (line of sight) to the cell towers will yield the best chance of getting a signal. Just call 1 hour before you need to be picked up.
We were up the two weeks ago. Plenty of water in the waterfall.
