The R.E.I garage sale is like a huge tent sale for R.E.I. I haven't got to go to one yet but I here the prices are awesome.

I got 2 pair of hiking boots, a pair of snow boots, snowboarding pants, snowboarding jacket, rain jacket, a pair of socks, and jogging tights which alone generally cost $85........all for the price of $172. The 2 jackets, pants and tights still had the original tags on them.....guess REI had a problem with a flood, so they couldn't sell them in the store, but they are perfectly alright! My ticket was 200, so I missed out on a lot of great things. The backpacks were gone when I finally got to get in and look. So were several other things that I would have loved to have gotten my hands on. Only problem......no early hikes on that date. Mary |

I think they are 2 or 3 times a year. I've discovered with my last one, that I should get there very early to get a ticket and the best pick of what they have. I've also gone late and still was able to get some really great deals. |

I think if there were ever a store to camp out in front of, REI would be it.

I got a pair of zip off pants for $5, a North Face Cats Meow sleeping bag (newer model) that looked like it was never used for $29, and a Sierra Designs 2 person backpacking tent for $48. My neighbor bought 2 vests for kayaking, 2 pairs of climbing shoes for his daughter, a Gregory backpack, a waterproof jacket, and 3 headlamps and a few t shirts for $150. And we went after the crowd died down. No waiting in line. Seems worth it to me. |

Hey, which REI did you got to? There were no sleeping bags or packs when I got in, and that was around in the morning. I was eyeing some climbing shoes for my son. At least he has a new pair of hiking boots. |

I went to Tempe. There were 3 sleeping bags there that I saw. I was told they bring things out all morning. Plus you have to consider people hord things (I saw one lady with about 8 headlamps on her arm), go through them amd decide not to buy so those items are put back. |

I'm in search of a good headlamp and just visited the REI in Tempe the other day. The kind of lamp I wanted to buy of course was the empty space on the shelf shelf (probably the ones she’d carried on her arm). Now it's off the PV, wish me luck.
