Okay - with this likely being the last of the decent rain/snowfall for the year - who is up for a trip up Barnhardt Trail this weekend?
We went last year just after a snowfall and the waterfalls were spectacular. I'm in the middle of a short break in schoolwork so I can probably do it without too much complaint.
Anyone else up for it? It is fairly long - I think we went back in about 5 or 6 miles if I recall correctly, but the views are great and the snow was very cool. |

Well, I'm fairly happy I didn't do this hike on Saturday. Not only was my back still in really bad shape, but we drove up to the rim to let Caleb play in the snow - and it was really rough up there. We were driving in serious blizzard conditions once we got on top of the rim. Visibility was down to a few feet - even when we stopped.
It stopped for a while and we got out to play - but then it just hammered us again. I had a great time.
On the way out it looked like Barnhardt trail was getting quite a bit of both rain and snow - it would not have been a plesant day. Exciting - yes, dangerous - yes, plesant - no. _________________ "Only small minds want always to be right."
