PICACHO PEAK HIKE & BBQ
Saturday, February 28th
Leader: Kurt Sedler (mail@friendshiking.com) Length: < 4 miles R/T
Phone: 602-339-8780
Rating: Moderate +
MEET @ I-HOP parking lot, NW corner of Ray Rd. and I-10, 8:00AM

This annual outing takes us to Picacho Peak. You know, the lone mountain between here and Tucson. It was the site of the westernmost battle of The War between the States. The trail is short, but steep. Hiking . There is also a very steep section near the top that has chain assists. The views are the real attraction to this hike. You can see for 100 miles in each direction from the top. Plus, on the lower section, we hopefully will be entertained by a profusion of wildflowers.
Directly following the hike, at the picnic area, we will have an optional bring-your-own picnic/barbecue. Katie, my daughter, will supply the charcoal and cupcakes.

Because you choose to work at something you love - and those are the sacrifices you chose to make? Very Happy

I'm sure there's lots of people that are much happier you are working with them rather than hiking.

But I guess that doesn't help when you are the one that wants to hit the trail. Sad
