I bought the Prolite 4 (1 pound)because of old bones--the Prolite 3 is an inch thick and comes in at 11 oz!! If you need a new one this is the way to go. Mary _________________ Shikekeh hozhoogo naasha.

Oh geeze! My honey just bought me the lightest most comfy thermarest there was at the time and of course three months later they come out with lighter ones!!!! This game can not be won! I am sticking with the one I have. I haven't even gotten the chance to use it yet and it is obsolete already! Sounds like a computer! _________________ ~~~Diane~~~

Well, if you like the one you have, it'll work just fine. I've had my Thermarest for a number of years. It isn't the lightest, but it IS comfortable. But those new ones that Thermarest has come out with do look inviting, don't they? Yep, just like computers.... |

Hank-- If I was 6 foot something with legs like yours I would not bother to change. LOL I was using an old pad that was a half pound heavier so this is a half pound I will never carry again! _________________ Shikekeh hozhoogo naasha.

Well, half a pound does make a difference.... I also bought one of their bigger pads for car/van camping (geology field trips). Decadent luxury... |

Wow. That's 5 oz. less than my Thermarest Ultralite 3/4. How can I justify this? The old one is still in great shape. Hmmm... maybe I should start renting out my equipment, it'll wear out faster. Thanks Mary!

You need to get it, so that you can carry the new gps unit you got last year, without adding any weight. _________________ Your life is dyed the color of your imagination |

They had a mess up on the web site--the light one is 13 oz not 11--hardly worth it for anyone who has the old ultralite. _________________ Shikekeh hozhoogo naasha.

Maryphyl,
Thanks for the tip on the new product. Since I haven't purchased a Thermarest yet and am looking for the lightest thing possible, this appears to be my ticket!
I'll check them out this month!
