Has any one camped or been in the area around Mammoth, AZ recently? I am specifically interested in the amount of water flowing (or lack thereof) in the San Pedro River in the near vicinity.
Thinking about heading down in that area to check out some of the caves but want to have some hiking/relaxing options as well. Besides, if I can't have a fire when I am camping; the next best thing is the sound of running water... _________________ All our dreams come true if we have the courage to pursue them...Walt Disney |

At Mammoth the river is nearly always dry, so I'd bet my next paycheck it's dry now. I used to drive between Tucson and Springerville several times a year. I was always amazed that even if we were having a fairly good monsoon, or winter rains, it would often be dry even in those times. |

If you take the river road out of Mammoth at a crossing there is usually some water but around that area is private land so I know of no camping in the immediate area. _________________ You can rest when you're dead |
