Hi everyone,
I'm looking to car camp somewhere near/on the way to the trailhead for Humphreys. How is the Freidlein Prairie Dispersed Camping area? Does it fill up quickly on a Friday afternoon/evening? Is the dirt rd. too rough for a fairly low-slung car?
Also, is the peak snow-free by now? I'm an AZ native but spent most of my time in Tucson so am not familiar w/how quickly Humphreys melts out. FYI I have climbed several high-elevation peaks, in WA, CA, & NV...so hopefully I can tackle this one. Any other tips/helpful advice? I'm coming from San Diego. _________________ Home is where the hiking is. |

All along FR 151 has great places to camp but it may be too rough for a low car. How low, what kind?

FR 151 has had some work done to it recently, it's in really good shape. I think there should be plenty of camping spots easily accessible by just about any car (unless you've got a real lowrider) _________________ ~Tracy

2WD hatchback. Not lowered, just the stock height. _________________ Home is where the hiking is. |
