It's still in the air whether or not I can make it to the New Years Day hike in South Mountain Park. But, I have the day off on friday and I needs to get out somewhere. I have to drop Mrs Mike off at work in N. Scottsdale, so that puts me at various trailheads around the Valley between 9 and 9:30. I've tossed around several possibilities... Seven Springs (probably the loop), Usery (Pass Mtn Loop or Ridgeline), Ballentine, or I could even be persuaded to do the Marcos De Niza Ridgeline combined with other trails in S. Mountain. So, if anyone is interested in joining me, let me know, offer suggestions or pick from one of the places mentioned above and let's do some trail! _________________ |

Not too early, not too late....I was thinking to leave FW at 9 AM so we can either meet there or meet in AJ at the golf course at 8:30 and car pool. Maybe the fee box will act like a slot machine again this weekend.....ask me about this later, it was too cool!
I've got this as a group hike on the calendar for March 6th too. I love this hike.

Bring Mrs. Mike! And touch base with me Saturday for sure. Maybe do some off-trail to "dead woman's cave"???? I saw that cave and want to check it out.
I'll tell you the "fee box" story then.....it was like being in Vegas! Ha ha ha
We'll do Mexican at Dos Gringos post hike.

Hooli and I are going to hike the Go John/Overton Loop in Cave Creek Recreation Area tomorrow moring. If you'd like to join us, let me know. The loop is about 6 miles, rated moderate. We're meeting 8:30 to 8:45 at the Starbucks on Carefree Highway at 48th Street, south side of the street. _________________ |
