Join me for a trailbuilding work event Thursday, February 3rd on the Black Hills passage of the Arizona Trail. These work events are to reroute the Arizona Trail off the infamous pipeline road and onto brand-new singletrack in the beautiful Sonoran desert north of Oracle. We are in the process of building 1.25 miles of trail at the south end of the reroute. No prior trailbuilding experience necessary. Please bring water, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, gloves, snacks and sturdy shoes. Since this event requires a bit of a commute from Tucson, I have set up two carpool locations:
0700- Lee Allen will be meeting people at the Wal-mart at Speedway and Kolb in the corner of the parking lot closest to the intersection.
0730- I will be meeting people in front of the Walgreens on the southeast corner of Ina and Oracle.
People coming from Phoenix can meet at the Tiger Mine Trailhead at 0830, where we will caravan in high-clearance vehicles a short distance to the worksite. Tiger Mine TH coordinates are 32.65044° N, 110.73150° W
After our commute out to the work site, we will be working 3- 3.5 hours. Sandwiches from Beyond Bread will be provided for lunch, so please make sure to sign up before Sunday evening, January 30th and let me know if you are going to be attending. Hope to see some of you there! _________________ Sirena
