Anyone want to help look for GPSJoe this coming Saturday and Sunday?
We'll plan on car camping in the area.

HEADS UP FOLKS: MCSO HAS CLOSED ROADS THIS MORNING!!!!

More details to follow shortly. The short version is that they simply don't want civillians back there today.

EDIT:
MCSO has closed FR201 to the trailhead. FR 25A closed at Mormon Grove.

MCSO is *begging* people to stay out of the area. Tough Boots has gone in to Sunflower Mine.

We'll be here for a little while (right on the side of 87).

Keep Joe in your thoughts and prayers folks.

Despite all the efforts of SAR today came out nothing again. The manpower was unbelievable and the SAR folks poured their heart and soul into this one last time.

We all knew that day would come when the search will have to called off. They exhausted their resources and places to search. As of tonight the search has been called off....

I know we won't rest until we find Joe so his family and friends can come to closure.

I'm still in disbelieve.

Crying or Very sad Not good.

Is anyone still planning to head out there tomorrow? The group out there today is trying to make plans for tomorrow, and wants to know if anyone is still coming.

yes, we will be there at the Peeley TH between 7:00-7:15, will that work?

Gabriele, I'm so sorry. I know those folks have worked very hard. We have all been so hopeful. It's still unbelievable that we can't find Joe.

Can you get us some details of what they searched today? I'm mostly interested in those thick nasty drainages leading down to Thicket Spring.....but would like to know anything else they may have considered "searched".

You know just thought of something. Tom gave back the GPS, if they still want to use it, Ambika you could pick it up from my house tomorrow morning on your way. Depends on how you planned on heading up to 87.

Never dawned on me at the time when he gave it back. I originally thought I'd be able to stay till Sun...but my plans had to be changed.

I really wanted to go because I am familiar with this area, but I came down with a cold that has gotten worse today.

Same here threedogz. I wanted to go on Sunday, but also came down with a cold on Friday night, and my throat got worse today.
Calling the search off is very sad and heartbreaking!

I just remembered (sorry but I can't think straight these days) that the Sheriff would like for anyone who finds an article that could belong to Joe to please call Deputy Jesse Robinson 602-920-4024.
They will then have us who know him very well help to confirm the article belongs to Joe and if so they will immediately renew their SAR efforts and then can conduct a more concentrated 'grid' search.

Therefore it would be tremendously helpful if the person who found the article can get GPS coordinates or try to their best mark the location where the article has been found.

Thank you all so very much for your help and care of our good friend.

Could we start another link with sign ups for over the long holiday weekend? I would like to go back over the long weekend and was wondering if anyone else was planning to go? Nice guy from HAZ gave us a couple names of trails to try.

Ok everyone. We were near the top of the mountain but as posted over on HAZ due to very dangerous conditions we had to turn around and come back down. I am sorry we could not continue. I feel as though I let Joe down but to continue today would not have been wise
