Still a lot of snow in most places, wonder if the opening of the roads and the campgrounds will be pushed back. |

Maybe. Sure a lot of snow up here, above 8,000 feet. |

Last few years the opening was in the 4th week of April. I'm thinking a week or two later this year. _________________ Become a skilled GPS user and it will set you free! |

Sunrise ski area is closing on April 4th, but not from lack of snow! I was told by the ski school director a couple of days ago that it is a matter of economics. Once the number of clientele drops, it is no longer profitable to operate. So many people came up earlier in the winter, so they are done with their skiing for the season and probably won't come back. It is mostly locals skiing this week up there, it's spring break.
Cross country skiing is likely to be available through the end of April, I hope! Later on in the spring, I have to drive further, over to Slade Ranch/Baldy area. |
