I guess that depends upon whether you define nude hiking as a problem, or whether you think BANNING nude hiking is a problem. In a lot of places in Europe, nudity is not considered a really bad thing like it is here in prudish, uptight, Puritannical America.

This has been discussed to death on HAZ. In fact, I think it must be the most popular topic on there: http://www.hikearizona.com/dex2/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1095

I am not sure of the actual legality in our National Forests, but I think it is actually not illegal as long as you are where there are not a lot of other people.

Hey, I don't hike nude myself. I don't even wear tank tops anymore, just t-shirts that come up to my neck! I have to protect my messed up skin from all that tanning I did while living in San Diego, Kona, and Tucson! I am able to wear shorts, though.

Just saw this joke and thought I'd add it to this thread.

An elderly man in Louisiana had owned a large farm for several years.
He had a large pond in the back.

It was properly shaped for swimming, so he fixed it up nice with picnic tables, horseshoe courts, and some apple, and peach trees.

One evening the old farmer decided to go down to the pond, as he hadn't been there for a while, and look it over.

He grabbed a five-gallon bucket to bring back some fruit.

As he neared the pond, he heard voices shouting and laughing with glee.

As he came closer, he saw it was a bunch of young women skinny-dipping in his pond.

He made the women aware of his presence and they all went to the deep end.

One of the women shouted to him, 'we're not coming out until you leave!'

The old man frowned, 'I didn't come down here to watch you ladies swim naked or make you get out of the pond naked.'

Holding the bucket up he said, 'I'm here to feed the alligator.' Laughing

That was a good one George. Suppose the farmer caught a glimpse?

I know if I'd been in the pond I would have looked like a cartoon character walking on water to get out!
