Fifth grade camp was a big success! Thank you to all who donated the tents. About 40 kids worked to set them up and they all agreed...setting up tents is hard! but fun!
A big thanks to Hnak who came out to the camp and gave a little presentation on hiking the Grand Canyon. He was a big hit with the kids and the parents. Add that to the hikes I took the kids on and I think there are a few more hiking fans out there! Hopefully many will continue to explore the wonderful outdoors and enjoy hiking for many years to come.
Thanks again everyone!

wow Linda congrats! very cool!
I was mentioning you and what you were doing to my principal (0ne of the ones you interviewed with) and she said she always hated that science camp but liked your ideas and thought would make it MUCH more worth while. Maybe you can become the School Science Camp Master! |

Linda,
So glad your fifth grade camp was a big success and very happy that you had contributions all around. I thought about that one tent that was a real bugger to set up. That little roadster was a tent that came to me in 2005 or 2006 by way of GTG but was Hooli's to begin with, I think. I think he would have liked the idea of his old tent being used for the next generation.
See ya at Keet Seel!

Nice Linda, glad it all went well and everyone had a Grand Time. Nice of Hank to share his wisdom and most likely instilled some energy into the kids to Keep on Hiking. Sounds like it was a fun time had by all.
So did you take your backpack? If so what did they think of all that and what you need to carry? _________________ Wanderingsoul (Michelle)
