I'm so freakin' excited; you guys have no idea! The picture above is from Cardigan Mtn, which I had the opportunity to hike up when I was visiting there last week. It is likely that I will go back again very soon to search for a house (already have a long list that I want to see), so hopefully I'll be able to work in another hike. I should have the summer to explore the White Mtns, the northern woods, bogs and swamps, the Green Mtns in Vermont, the Adirondacks in NY, the coast of Maine, Baxter State Park and Mt. Katahdin... I'm getting breathless. Not to mention all of the climbing in Pawtuckaway, Rumney and North Conway, NH, the Shawangunks in NY, and some scattered places in Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. Oh, and mtn biking. Oh my gosh... and kayaking! When can I start packing!?
As you can tell, I'm going to be very bored. _________________ "Your day-glo ballet days are over." Ancient chinese proverb.

I am going to back to New Hampshire next Friday, to go house hunting. My Monday is free and possibly Sunday. I got new hiking boots this past week. I wonder what I should do with my free time? _________________ "Your day-glo ballet days are over." Ancient chinese proverb.

Awesome! I hope in addition to the much better outdoor environment, you can find a job you enjoy. |

Thanks Elizabeth! You're right about the outdoors up there. I won't be bored for lack of hiking or climbing, that's for sure! I think I might be getting a job at Eastern Mountain Sports right away; at least temporarily anyway, till I find something that pays better, or until I get all of the gear I want/need. Whichever comes first.
I have to sign off now. The movers are here and packing. See you all from New Hampshire! _________________ "Your day-glo ballet days are over." Ancient chinese proverb.

Yeah. What he said. You still don't have very much kayaking gear, do you? How about cross country skiing? Ice climbing? And then there's upgrading and fine tuning your existing gear. And then there's upgrading and fine tuning the gear you just bought...
Let us know if you think "East Coast" people are different than we Westerners. I have always thought there were quite a few cultural differences. I mean, besides the fact they say they need a drink of "Wuhtuh" instead of "Wadder" if they are thirsty. |
