This is a very helpful beginners/intermediate guide on outdoor photography. While it's mainly geared towards 35mm cameras, it is still of some use to those who've gone digital. The book is well written by a well known wilderness photographer and a former editor for Audubon magazine, and all of the photos included have the location, type of lens, aperture, shutter speed, and film type, which I find to be very helpful in recreating some of the pictures in it. It also has help and suggestions for those who want to submit their work to magazine companies, including what to include in your portfolio and the skills demanded by editors.
Sample Chapters include:
1 Isolating The Subject
2 Composing The Picture
3 Defining Your Perspectivee
4 The Power Of Color
5 The Element Of Design
And so on and so on.
This book is available online at REI.com, and sells for around $30
