Did an early May 7 day/6 night backpack trip along Salt Creek to the Needles District. Good water everywhere; amazing formations, ruins, pictographs/petroglyphs, historical cowboy line shacks, etc. Lots of arches to see, some of which offered a shortcut to the next drainage. Needles district had quite a few day hikers, but they did not detract from the beauty or experience. Note: You will need bear boxes if hiking Salt Creek drainage.
