Angela & I tossed about the idea of an October foray into the canyon ...Hike SK across Tonto and camp at IG for 1 or 2 nights ....and hike out on Bright Angel

Use down day to perhaps go get some beer at Ranch or wander out to Plateau point and further depending on interest ...

For some -- they could just hike down BA and camp for 1 or 2 nights ...

If there is enough interest I am going to try and get the group site at BA or we can have a permit for 6 or so ( what ever the limit).

All failing -- day hike!!! Hiking

Chime in so we can gauge interest

I, of course am game for any of it. Sounds like we're looking more toward the end of Oct cuz of Ambika's Workshop in mid-Oct.

This is more of have a fun leisurely backpack/camp/hike in the GC.

Just FYI, I'm putting in for Grandview Loop (Cottonwood Springs first night, then Tonto Trail, second night at Horseshoe Mesa). Sometime in October.

So I plan on permitting this with Nov 2-3 as 1st Choice and Nov 9-10 as second choice .....Hope this will work out for those that are interested....

As the time is approaching for the permit, any thots on Fri/Sat nite stay or Sat/Sun nite stay? I would like to do two nites and am assuming Fri/Sat would be the preference?... hike in Friday.
If a person can't make the Friday, they can always come on down Saturday. If you can't make the Saturday, come down Sunday.
(depending on what you all want and what we get)
OR
are you all thinking just Sat nite?

Let's get some quick feedback as we have to put our request in on Monday, July 1 and I'd like to get it in first thing.

Dates: Nov 1-3, Nov 8-10 are what we are going to try for.

Got the permit. I put in for 2 people to save money, am adding 4 later on to fill the permit. I already have just about enough interest, but if some cancel I'll post up here to let people know. It's for October 11-13. Hike down Grandview, camp at Cottonwood Creek. Then hike Tonto around base of Horseshoe Mesa to Hance Creek and Miner's/Page Spring. Pick up water. 2nd camp up on Horseshoe Mesa.

Angela, Todd will have a better chance of getting to go with 8-10 but will be willing to try for either date. It shouldn't be a problem either way for me.
