Todd and I are signed up to do a Supes hike for February but I started thinking and I know Quarts Peak has been done but I didn't get to go and would really like to check it out. Can I get some feed back on those who might or might not be interested and why?

I think Quartz Peak is an excellent alternative to a Superstitions hike. I did it a few years ago and would enjoy going back there. I drove in from the south off Maricopa Road, but easiest way is I-10 west to old highway 85 between Avondale and Buckeye and down through Rainbow Valley. Nice trailhead.

I am an eastsider far closer to the Supes than Quartz Peak--that said, I have always wanted to do Quartz Peak Razz

Randy-thanks for the directions. Does anyone have more specific directions and can a 2-wheel drive vehicle make it to TH?

I would be interested Very Happy

I will explain to the kids and wife about the peak being all quartz; they are into rocks too so maybe I can generate some interest for this one with my family. Very Happy
