Jump in here & throw out some more ideas ... and step up to lead a hike or 2 . As always, your responsibility as event lead is to set up the hike or backpack & co-ordinate any permits associated with the event.

Please keep GHOTM events at skill & effort levels that allows the average hiker to join in.

I'm really glad to see some GHOTMs getting set up. I wish I could get out for all of them! If you've never been on one, you'll find that they are VERY SPECIAL indeed.

Oct seems to be the month we end up with each year. We are really not in control of the scheduling. We are actually hoping to get more than one weekend this year since the scheduling has been given over to Anne she mentioned that it would be possible! So let's hope for good things!

Hey Anne -- I would love to do that section of AZTrail as well!

Anyone up for doing the Oracle Ridge Line late march - early April as a shuttle hike 13.2 miles of general down hill ?

Ambika, put it up there and we will show up if we can! At this point we both have pickups so won't be much help for the shuttle unless people want to rise in the bed but I'd love to hike it!

How about Philomena Spring for June, the weekend of the 1st, or the 15th. I like the 1st to be sure to beat the monsoons, but the 15th would probably be fine as well. http://hikearizona.com/dex2/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6295 I've been thinking of doing this for a couple years, even drove up there and spent the night, but got rained (or chickened) out. Put me down for planning that. There is dispersed camping at Bismark Lake TH area, if we can't crash HPP Smile We can drive up on Friday night, camp, hike up and back Saturday, maybe spend another night or head into town for dinner.

I'm game on the Oracle Ridge trip, or can help with the shuttle.

Ambika,

Plug me in for March Picacho Peak, weekend TBD. We can car camp at the Park Fri and Sat nights if there are enough interested folks and hopefully there will be some great wildflowers to be photographed.

Hmm -- anything up in your neck of woods that is still good to do a trip up from here ?
There's always good old baldy -- anything else that is GHOTM friendly -- moderate with good camping ?
