Just took the kids up to West Clear Creek because access to Fossil Springs is closed off.

The no-seeums or fleas or whatever little bugs are out in full force. They are up on the rim. I did not have a problem down inside the canyon but top-side, they were awful!! Evil or Very Mad Water is still very chilly and running clear.

Forest service road 144 is clear and easy to use.

I got bitten up horribly in Utah last week by "no see ums" At least I didn't see um. At first I thought they were mosquito bites but they were all along my back just along the line where my tank top was. Itchy as heck too.

We road walked about half way back to the car that same day, camped off the road and completed the walk the next morning for a total walk time of ~13 hours. We hiked West Clear Creek back to Bull Pen ranch in 2.5 days with a total walk time of 22 hours. There are some incredibly pretty sections of canyon on this hike, when it's good it's one of the best around.
