please!! would like to talk to anyone who may have taken this route.... preferably this spring 2012 or in early june in previous years.

would like some first hand knowledge on current conditions, temps day and night in early june, reliability of springs, etc.

we are entering at whitehouse trailhead with up to five days to lees ferry.

thanks,
elliott

Oh this should be wonderful Smile We did the wirepass to lees ferry a while ago & it was a wonderful journey. We were lucky to not encounter any challenging pools of water ..some limited quicksand (we did go looking for it) and the one thing that bit us was the suspended sediments killing our water filters....

you will have a wonderful time for sure Very Happy

hey, thanks for responding. what time of year did you go.

were you filtering water from river or just springs? do you think pre-filtering with some coffee filters would do the job?
i'm using a katadyn 'hiker' model.

thank again,
el

ps wow, just looked at some of your photography. beautiful!

We did the hike in Fall (October)
We did filter from the springs & it still clogged -- I have a MSR field servicable one that was fine. The ones that got in trouble were the sealed ones.

What works for me is letting water settle overnight and then filter -- I have personally never had issues with my filters.

Pre-filtering should work....but ifits silty then you may need a few pre-filters with you.

Have a great trip
