I'm in Phoenix for a work trip end of January and added two and a half day for a hike. This will be my first time hiking in the Superstition Wilderness. The logistics are pretty much the same as my hike in the Rincon Mountains. I will be at noon at the airport, get a rental car, stop to purchase cooking fuel, and head to the trail head to start the hike.
The Superstition Wilderness area is quite a large region and I was wondering if there are certain areas that are nicer or more interesting. For example I'm wondering if the Superstition Ridgeline is a must do or if the inner area is better?
Right now I'm kind of leaning to start from the Peralta Trailhead. But that might change depending on your recommendations, water availability (I'd need to find a water source at least once), and how well the route pans out.
I'm looking forward to your input while I'm planning this hike. |

Not sure what dates you will be in Phx but there are two BIG hikes happening in January. Both are 15 milers in the Superstition Wilderness with people who know the area. PM me for details
