Lol that is ok. My brain was not fully engaged when I got off work and posted this morning, I am thinking about changing the meet/leave times to 0800/0830 respectively since Target does not open til 0800. Later start time better for everyone or keep as is?? Anyone?? Bueller?? Bueller??

This sounds fun. Don't know I'll be able to make it. I'll keep an eye on this and see what goes with me.

It is not far at all, maybe a mile and a half to the falls. On the way back there are about 4-6 places to swim/swing out on a rope. I figure get to the falls and jump, swim, relax, snack there and then leisurely work our way back while checking out the other spots.

Planning on the second TH that is about a 10 mile drive on the forest road. I will probably keep the meet at 0730 leave by 0800 so we get there fairly early. Can stop in Payson to pick up food if need be.

They are now limiting the number of vehicles and people on Fossil Creek Road and there will also be a Rodeo in Payson this weekend.

Checking the Payson Calendar it looks like Saturday the 13th there are some activities, then nothing until the 18th and with the hike being on Sunday the 14th I do not see any conflict.

National Barrel Horse Association on August 13, 2011 @ Payson Event Center
Rodeo Bucking Bulls on August 13, 2011 @ Rim Country Museum-Green Valley Park
August Doins Rodeo on August 18, 2011 @ Payson Event Center
August Doins Parade on August 20, 2011 @ Main Street

It is true they are monitoring traffic on Fossil Creek Road and I am ok with that. That is one reason we are leaving fairly early, hopefully we can beat most of the rush if there is one. School starting, or having started, should also cut down on traffic some I think.

I posted up this hike for during the week and no one could make it so I figured a weekend might work better.
