I'm proposing the weekend of August 6th for a fun hike up Granite Mountain, here near Prescott. If you'd like to escape the heat and hike through the ponderosa pines, let me know...

We could camp near Granite Mountain Friday and/or Saturday nights, or just come up for a day hike.

Or, for the really adventurous, we could hike up on Saturday, camp out at my secret campsite on Granite Mountain (known only to the general public), and hike down Sunday morning...

Hank

What a great day! Thanks Hank for putting this one together! It was a little warmer than I was expecting and I got a bit worried about Lucy but she did great! Cheese burger and fries and a yummy chocolate malt on the grass afterward was awesome as well!!! Let's play again soon everyone!!!

Stomper, Accidents on AZ Hwys have a way of ruining weekend plans (been there before) sorry you couldn't join us.

This was a great hike...quite a workout for those of us that have been slothing around all summer Sweat Great views, great company, some pretty butterflies and a black rattle snake to liven things up a bit! Eek

All in all, a fun day. I'm looking forward to playing again soon! Agree

Thx for a great day everyone.
and thx to Hank for showing us around his backyard so to speak.

I will try and post the snake photos and video right away... as to the rest; well...I'm a little behind on my photo/video stuff but will try and squeeze this trip in there somewhere.

Nice to see you all!

Sounds like a great day!! Wish I could have made it but apparently someone decided to lay down in the middle of AZ89 and get run over. Road was closed north of Wickenberg, just as the foothills began. Some folks were talking about going through a place called Stanton but since I was cutting it close timewise and had no idea about the roads to/from there I turned back. Glad everyone had fun.
