A couple of friends of mine and I are going to check out the trail (well one of them, there may be more) from the dirt parking lot to a waterfall on Fossil Creek to see if it is kid and dog friendly. I have viewed the area on Google Earth and have a rough map. Looks like a 1 to 1.5 mile hike. Plan on some time goofing off at the waterfall and maybe eating lunch there.

If it is kid and dog friendly we will probably hike it again in a few weeks with their families and my dogs.

Anyone that wants to come along on either hike is welcome. Details to follow.

Looks like a somewhat later start than I imagined, probably meet at the Shell on Shea just west of Beeline (south side of the road I believe) around 1000 or so. Leave around 1000-1015. So far the weather looks good and the pics I have seen of the waterfall make it seem an ideal escape from the heat.

Lol I am fairly sure the next hike in this area (with Dan's wife and three boys plus Tom, Teri, and their daughter) will be a weekend hike.
