We are headed up there with Lucy and Emily to play around Saturday and Sunday if you would like to join us! Em needs to be home Sunday evening sometime so she can spend the holiday with her mommy so we won't be staying Sunday night but if you would like to I am sure no one would stop you!!! Looking for a fun laid back weekend and some water play![/u]

I have never done this hike. I would like to bring Ace and Cristina. I believe you have done this one before. Is this a hike Ace can handle? He will be 4 years old at the end of August. And can a normal vehicle get to the camping area?

Ace can handle this one. The hike down to the creek is a little steep and slick in places but well worth it. Daddy may have to carry Ace back up for a while though. Yes, the road is passable by most passenger cars. At least it was a few years ago.

You can take 260 East from 17 (Camp Verde) about 30 miles to FSR144, take left to FSR149, take left and head N on FSR149 to FSR142. This is a T intersection. Take a right and head E on FSR142 to FSR142E. Take left and take to end of road which is where the campground is located. There are a number of sites, but we snagged one of the last sites on the right side last time which is pretty large.

The alternate route in is to take 87/260 through Pine/Strawberry to just past the 260 intersection. FSR149 will be a mile or two further on the left side. Take this N to the FSR142 intersection (then right to 142E).

Rash, did someone say RASH?! oh never mind....I think you're referring to something else because Todd's line with me is "I've got the ointment". HA!

I've never done this hike either. I presume I could do it? and if so would be interested.

I might make it a day trip. Do you plan to hike down to the creek both Sat. and Sun?

Are you driving up and then hiking on Saturday? What time are you planning on starting?

I'm supposed to be "dog sitting" for my kid's dogs that weekend...and I have to do a drop off at the airport early on, so I may not be able to make it for the "official" hike if you start early, but I might be able to come up and camp (and provide Lucy with some company! Very Happy)

We are planning to leave the house around 0600 to get up there some where around 0900. Will probably just hike when we get there and set up campe after we hike out. It is not really a long hike so you could probably join us down at the creek when you get there if you want Tracy.

Looks like it's Saturday for me. I'll see you at the trailhead. I'll probably come back that evening.

Anyone interested in carpooling?

Linda
