Just seems like I cannot get out on the trail enough .... How about you ?
Hopefully the hikes this weekend and next in the Superstitions will make me fell better!

Off to Canyon Lake to First water this week & hope to tackle Aylor's arch next week ....

Where are you hiking, what are you doing ?
I want to see some backpacks thrown up here ... Wink

I too have been slacking off since about the 2nd week of January. After last weekend's hike up the Battleship in GC with Hank, I'm headed back to the canyon this weekend for another long day hike. Itinerary is still up in the air, but it might be down Hermit trail as far as Cathedral Stairs and back.

I'm headed up early Saturday Morning for a 5 day (I hope) trip to Isis Temple. I probably won't get to the top, as I'm no climber, but it'll be fun to see how close I can get. If nothing else, I'll get to play in the Canyon again! Very Happy

Down to Phantom Ranch, up to Utah Flats, northwest to Phantom Creek, follow Phantom Creek to a Redwall break between Isis and Shiva Temples, up through the Redwall to the saddle between Isis and Shiva, then back south to Isis Temple. At least that's the theory...

Proposed itinerary: Day 1 - Utah Flats, Day 2 - Isis - Shiva saddle, Day3 - summit attempt, Day 4 - Utah Flats, Day 5 - out. Phwew!

I've been grounded since mid-January due to ankle injury. Another month of PT and then back on the trails for me! But then it will be too hot for valley hikes Sad

Been attempting to get a camp site at Lost Dutchman for my popup, and stayed in a cabin at Deadhorse State Park last month. Missed two bicycle camping trips, was not able to get time off from work. Been hiking in the Goldfields.

My life sucks during the week. My life is great during the weekends.
I recommend you join a couple of meetup groups. Tucson Backpackers is an up and coming group here in Tucson.
Arizona Backpacking Club is very active in PHX.
We just did an over night on Coffee Flat this past weekend with TUB.
Although a bit warm during the day, the temps were super fantastic at night to sit around a little cowboy campfire.
I love the Sups!

Got out this past weekend -- Canyon Lake to 1st Water on a wonderful day -- met a pissy rattler & some cardinals that were rather amusing. And oh -- there was this 2 "tibber" tall Cholla tree .... possib;y the largets Cholla Tree I have seen!

Ah - my issues are not lack of company or loactions -- its usually lack of time due to more pressing matters like the rest of my life, competing interests and a small bit of work. Confused

I was a on a great roll, until the flu hit me! Now I am getting back on track, hiking after school. Just have not done much backpacking, as I like too. But that is what the summer is all about!

Yes - we should set up some backpacking for summer
I'd love to do some AZT trail sections for this year ....
Chiricahuas ...
Mogollon Rim ....This area seems to elude me for both hikes & backpacks.
