I have recently been exploring some of the lesser-used trails in the Catalinas:

The Samaniego Ridge Trail, damaged in the 2003 fires has recently been worked by volunteer mountain bikers and is now open for business!

Next, I hiked the little-used Brush Corral Trail on the remote northeastern side of the Catalinas with some friends and enjoyed expansive ridgeline views:
